IGEA Brain & Spine is proud to announce the recent appointment of our own Dr. Ciro G. Randazzo as the Director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. With an impressive background as a neurosurgeon and neuroendovascular specialist, Dr. Randazzo will continue to work in making a positive impact in patient health.
Dr. Randazzo previously served as the Division Director at the Department of Neurological Surgery at Thomas Jefferson Medical College. He is a board certified neurosurgeon and neuroendovascular specialist who earned a degree in biology at Johns Hopkins University in 1999. He then attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey where he completed the MPH and MD programs in 1999 and 2003, respectively.
Dr. Randazzo has the honor of being one of the few neurosurgeons dually trained in open neurological surgery and neuroendovascular treatments. He balances his focus by performing neuroendovascular procedures, cranial and spinal tumor surgeries, and general neurosurgery. He also specializes in treating spinal cord injuries and aneurysms. Throughout his career, Dr. Randazzo has published several works on new surgical trends and breakthroughs in publications such as Stroke.
A combination of passion for practicing medicine and keeping an entrepreneurial presence has led Dr. Randazzo to establish and serve as Division Director at a comprehensive neuroscience center at Atlanticare. Additionally, Dr. Randazzo is an active member of national societies such as the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Medical and Neurosurgical Societies.
