The neurosurgeons and other physicians of IGEA Brain, Spine & Orthopedics have been seeing patients in their new North Brunswick-area office for only a short time, but they have a long history of providing advanced, even life-saving, care to the people of Middlesex County and adjacent communities.
In fact, says David Poulad, MD, FAANS, FACS, he and his partners decided to open the office at 854 Livingston Avenue in North Brunswick because of the growing number of area residents they are seeing. “Physicians from North Brunswick, New Brunswick and surrounding towns have referred patients to us for many years, and people from the area frequently seek us out for consultation on a variety of issues, such as chronic spinal problems that have not responded to prior treatment, trigeminal neuralgia, and the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease,” the board-certified neurosurgeon explains.
Adam Lipson, MD, FAANS, FACS, adds, “We wanted to provide patients in and near the North Brunswick area with a nearby, modern, fully staffed location that offers all of the resources needed for consultation and office-based assessment of neurological conditions.” The board-certified neurosurgeon and IGEA Brain, Spine & Orthopedics partner notes that the new office, which opened a few weeks ago, will significantly reduce travel time for area residents who previously received care at one of the practice’s other New Jersey offices, such as those in Union, Florham Park, Hazlet, or Paramus. IGEA Brain, Spine & Orthopedics also has two offices in Manhattan.
Patients seen at the North Brunswick office will be able to receive the full range of services provided by the practice’s four neurosurgeons, neurologist, neuropsychologist, and orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, notes board-certified neurosurgeon and IGEA Brain, Spine & Orthopedics partner Ciro G. Randazzo, MD, MPH, FAANS. “Our practice has made a major commitment to providing New Jersey residents with ready access to cutting-edge neurosurgical care, whether that be urgent intervention to treat a life-threatening aneurysm rupture or the latest minimally invasive techniques to provide relief from degenerative disc issues that have not resolved with conservative treatment or even prior surgery. Opening this office is a reflection of that commitment,” says Dr. Randazzo.
Anil Nair, MD, FAANS, also a board-certified neurosurgeon and IGEA Brain, Spine & Orthopedics partner, adds, “We are excited to be seeing patients in our Livingston Avenue office, and welcome this opportunity to be able to offer area residents in-depth consultations and individualized care close to home.” Along with Dr. Randazzo, Dr. Nair is among the few neurosurgeons in the country trained in both open neurological surgery and neuroendovascular surgical techniques.
Beyond the practice’s four neurosurgeons, the IGEA Brain, Spine & Orthopedics’ staff includes board-certified neurologist Charles Gellido, MD; board-certified orthopedic surgeon Arun Rajaram, MD; and board-certified neuropsychologist Anthony De Marco PsyD, ABBP-CN, as well as physician assistants and other healthcare professionals.
