COVID-19 UPDATE: LETTER TO OUR PATIENTS – 4/30/20

I hope this email finds you well and that you and your family are safe and healthy during this unprecedented time.

While we are putting extensive safety measures in place, I want to share with you that our office remains open for both in office visits as well as telemedicine visits through our Klara platform.   We also hope to resume with elective surgical cases by May 15th.  As an essential business, we feel that it is important to be able to offer care to those who need us, including many of our patients with severe neurological and orthopedic symptoms.

We know that providing a safe environment for our patients and our employees will be of utmost importance as we enter a “new normal”. Our approach follows all the guidelines from the CDC and local health officials for specialty medical practices. Some of our new protocols include:

  • Social distancing techniques that include fewer patients and providers in the offices
  • Assessing patients for COVID-19 risks.
  • Temperature checks of all patients
  • All IGEA staff will be wearing personal protective equipment at all times.

COVID-19 UPDATE: LETTER TO OUR PATIENTS – 3/11/20

Nothing is more important to IGEA than the health and safety of our patients and staff, and our proactive measures will help ensure your safety during this difficult time.

Office visits are now limited to patients who recently underwent surgery and are scheduled for post-op appointments. For health and safety reasons, all other patients are invited to take advantage of our new telemedicine system. Patients can now speak directly with a physician or physician’s assistant over the telephone, or on a video system via KLARA, which is accessible on desktops and mobile devices.

We recommend this for any at-risk patients including those with respiratory illness and those age 65 and older. If you’re interested in having your new or existing appointment via video-conferencing, contact us at (1-866) 467-1770. If you are unable to access a device for virtual appointments, contact us to discuss alternative ways of being seen, including a limited in-person visit for new patients.

For those who must come for an office visit, our cleaning service has been taking extra measures to clean and disinfect, and patient care coordinators are disinfecting rooms and wiping all surfaces thoroughly in between patient visits. In addition, contact is limited between the patient, receptionists and physician and physician assistant, and patients are escorted to a room immediately.

In the event of an emergency, patients should first contact the office immediately. Our physicians and physicians assistants are available from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. through our on call service.
