James Aragona, MD, is an orthopaedic surgeon with IGEA Brain & Spine. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has extensive experience in the field of evaluation and management of spine disorders. Dr. Aragona has been performing spine procedures for over 35 years, including treatment for degenerative spine conditions and herniated discs, as well as fracture and tumor surgery.

In addition to his position as an orthopaedist with IGEA, Dr. Aragona is a member of the teaching staff of the Orthopaedic Residency Program at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for Seton Hall University School of Graduate Medical Education. He is also Physician Representative for the New Jersey Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development Advisory Council on Workers’ Compensation.

Prior to IGEA, Dr. Aragona was an orthopaedic surgeon with Garden State Orthopaedic Surgery. He also served as Team Physician at New Jersey City University. At New Jersey Orthopaedic Hospital, he was an attending physician in the scoliosis clinic and the sports clinic. He also served as a preceptor for both Union Hospital and Overlook Medical Center in their respective sports medicine fellowship programs.

Dr. Aragona completed a fellowship through the International Academy of Independent Medical Evaluators (IAIME). He completed his residency in general and orthopaedic surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, during which time he was also Administrative Chief Resident of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Aragona received his medical degree from the Free University of Brussels Faculty of Medicine.
